Certainly the state and local officials have a great deal of responsibilty previous to the storm for evacuating their populace (and I don't hear anyone blasting Mississippi gov and mayors for not evacuating their community's poor EITHER), but when the bredth of the devistation was known, there is no excuse for why Homeland Security didn't immediately set up communications and distribute food and water a.s.a.p. |

| When they call this a government of the RED states independent media it would appear that there is more irony there than one might have once thought possible in America, especially with the GOP. After all, they were the ones pushing "better dead than red" for so long, including in the idea of independent media embracing any of the tools and techniques the Soviet apparatchiks used to control their population.
