Eve, 2006.03.07 (Tue) 15:12 » I've known about what's been happening in South Dakota for some time now, but every time I read about it, I get just as angry and daughter outraged as the first time I found out. Knowing what prompted the passing of the bill doesn't help, either; countless women in that state will suffer just because of a daughter calculated political assault on Roe vs. Wade. Even if this assault fails, who knows how daughter many will be affected in the interim? Women, of course, but even mothers, sisters, lovers, and wives can be raped and become pregnant as a result; how many men and families are then affected by extension? It's sickly and hypocritically hilarious that the wording prohibits any "person" from performing an abortion on a pregnant woman; does that also apply to the pregnant woman if she decides to perform one on herself? After all, it says that any pregnant mother upon whom an abortion is performed or attempted will ^not^ be subject to criminal conviction or penalty.
