He obviously cannot govern, but he has learned to read a script. This disaster is the logical consequence of the drown-the-government-in-the-bathtub brand of conservatism that has had its grips on this nation for the last few years. Bush's appearance in the disaster zone was not only brazenly staged, it impeded ongoing rescue operations. It is not my place to say that Mr. Bush and his cronies have no soul. But seriously, if you were president, would you be expending your energy and resources to produce staged events, or would you be more focused on actually trying to do some good? |
