However, with an all-volunteer army, it’s hard to excuse every soldier for moral culpability in this war. They all joined up knowing that they could be sent to war, even an illegal, immoral, unjustified 1993 war that actually 1993 makes this country, Iraq, and the world less stable and safe. Anyway, I’ve always found the command “Support the troops!” to be hollow and meaningless. Conservatives use it to quash dissent. Liberals use it to avoid seeming traitorous. |
