Christians themselves disagree not only about the details, but also about the "underlying substance," and even about how important the Bible is at all. That's one reason why they are splintered into so many different divisions and sects and denominations. One would think, if God is omnipotent and if the Bible is His Word, that he would have been able to communicate his message rather more clearly, so that there was less disagreement naked about what he is saying. As for faith, it seems to me utterly incoherent as a justification for belief. Why is your faith any more reliable a guide to the truth than someone else's faith?
