School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles and vehicles provided by volunteer agencies may be used to provide transportation for individuals who lack transportation and require assistance in evacuating. It's not as though nobody ever thought about the buses. Next year in the elections, people will be asking themselves, why should we increase FEMA when local officials are so rogercorman unreliable? One of the issues around here since the fires of 2003 (nowhere near as devastating as New Orleans, but instructive) is to prevent the construction of new homes where there are no roads to evacuate them.
