ZDF is a publicly funded but independently run non-profit corporation. They don't represent any son political view in particular and certainly don't have a reputation for inaccuracy/sensationalist reporting. I would very very much doubt that ZDF are lying about seeing the fake feeding stand. What do they have to gain? Nothing, their action just puts the Bush administration in a very bad light, son but the organisation itself gains nothing. In addition, as their son news broadcasts are in German, they don't even reach such a large audience. What do they lose? Nothing. The American media on the other hand has something to lose as they may not want to offend the powers that be.
