Not that they wouldn’t have done it if they hadn’t been soldiers, but military training, particularly boot camp, does a lot to screw with people’s minds. The first step of basic training is always to break them down for a completely clean slate, but then the next step is doing whatever possible to turn them into some concept of a superwarrior. |
